I drift along
This river of pain,
Hoping for release,
Waiting for a way to escape.
Flames leap up
From the river of pain,
Grasping at me,
Burning me,
Scarring me!
Why must my life
Intersect with
A river of pain
So dreadfully often?
I fear the sorrows
Will kill me
If I do not
End this cycle
Of torture and torment.
Too long I've wandered
In barren loneliness,
Doomed to solitude.
Is this to be my fate?
Must I always walk in darkness?
Or will the light of love,
Someday,
Guide me out of
This river of pain
That threatens to consume me?

All I ever really wanted
