Online social networking is fast becoming an important part of our lives. People keep in touch with friends on Facebook, promote their bands on MySpace, find jobs on LinkedIn, and read news on Digg. If you like spending a lot of time on on Facebook, Twitter, Digg and other social media websites, or if you are a blogger, then you probably use a lot of various social media apps. But wouldn't it be just great to have a browser that made social networking and blogging easy and convenient? Flock Inc. developers thought along these lines and came up with
Flock - the browser for a social media fan.
Being powered by Mozilla engine, Flock has all the features that computer users around the world love in Firefox. It's fast, secure, and a pleasure to use. In addition to that, Flock supports most Firefox add-ons. Flock works on Windows, Mac, and Linux and it is available in twelve languages. Its developers call Flock "The Social Web Browser". And they are right - this browser makes social networking easier and more enjoyable than ever before.
Flock is feature-rich and has an easy to navigate, intuitive tabbed interface with several buttons that let you switch between different sidebars. These sidebars make it possible to easily access all Flock's features.
"My World" is the main sidebar that opens by default every time you launch Flock. That's were the users can see all their social activity and subscriptions at once – news feeds, updates from friends, bookmarks and photo/video updates. This makes the My World sidebar an ideal starting point.
"People" is the sidebar that lets you connect with friends from your favorite social networks, such as Twitter, Facebook. You can customize your social networks and add new ones in just a few mouse click.
"Media" is another useful sidebar. It allows you to quickly find and browse photos and videos from your favorite sites.
"Webmail" is especially handy if you have several email accounts with popular free webmail providers, like Yahoo Mail and GMail, because you can monitor all your accounts for new messages and easily access them when you have new mail.
Another sidebar worth mentioning is "Blog Editor". This sidebar is a gem for bloggers, because it allows to write WordPress and Blogger.
There is also a feed reader, photo uploader, and web clipboard to help you keep on top of everything.
Another innovative Flock feature is its search. Not only does it allow using all the popular search engines, but it will also look through the tweets, status updates and photo uploads from all of your friends. This way you'll be able to see if your search query matches anything that's been said recently by real live humans.
Flock is an amazing browser that makes it really easy to connect with friends on Twitter or chat to them via Facebook chat.
There is a lot Flock has to offer and the great thing about it is that it's very easy to use. And for those who have questions about how to use the browser and its features there is an excellent User Guide written in plain English and available online.
