I was like most people - hanging on to threads of faith about angelic visitations - skeptical to say the least, but believing as much as was possible that God would still send angels today. I had read and studied the word exclusively on angels, and I knew that the Bible was full of revelation about their constant activity on earth. It spoke exclusively about their interaction with God's people; their missions and assignments. Beginning with Genesis we see interaction with the angels. The great fall of Adam and Eve brought about expulsion from the garden, and the angels (cherubim) guarding the east end of the garden to keep Adam and Eve out (Gen. 3:24). Then there was Abraham sitting underneath the Terebinth tree of Mamre, and lifting his eyes to see three men standing by him, and he knew that the men were angels and one was the Lord (Genesis 18). Or what about the barren woman in Judges 13, and the angel appearing to her to give instructions on her soon coming conception and the child? Her husband, Manoah prayed the angel would return to teach them how to raise this child, and in verse 8 it shows that the angel visited them both. Isaiah 6, in the year that Uzziah died, Isaiah saw the Lord high and lifted up, and he saw angels (seraphim) around the throne. Then there was Ezekiel who spoke with angels and saw many visions, and Daniel, Joshua, Jacob saw angels ascending and descending up and down a ladder from heaven to earth, then there was Moses, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and Zechariah the father of John the Baptist, Saul who after witnessing an angelic visitation later became Paul the apostle of Christ, and the list goes on and on and on.
Were angels real? Yes, there was plenty of evidence to back this "theory" up. They existed, they moved among the people, they were given specific assignments and sent on missions by God.
Did I believe that they still came and went from the heavenlies......well, I wanted to. I was one of those Christians that often said, "Lord, I believe, please help my unbelief." Then it happened, in May 2008. I was sound asleep when something awoke me. I quickly sat up in bed and studied my surroundings. The clock read two a.m. From my room I could see into our sitting room, and the adjoining upstairs bathroom. The night light gave off a soft glow that began brightening right before my eyes. The light grew and grew until the
