Poetry: This love

by Megan Mcdiarmid

Created on: September 18, 2010

Laying in the grass,

Looking at the stars,

You've left, you're gone, you're way to far.

I can't believe how much it means,

to know you're not here by the stream.

I can't explain, I don't know why, but today I'll make up for all my lies.

We sat in the grass in the pale moonlight,

time flew by and thats when we took flight.

You told me life was too short to stay in one spot,

but let me tell you, I've learned alot.

I can't go back or rewind,

so today I've finally made up my mind.

I'm coming close, I'm coming near,

to the place in which I greatly fear.

Nothing's normal and nothing's the same,

but that's the way it is in life's crooked game.

We sat in the grass and under the stars,

I let you take my heart,

but I didn't let you go far.

You dropped it in the stream and walked away,

and that's why I've come to you for directions today.
