Why quality is more important than quantity when writing web content

In writing web content, quality is more important than quantity.  However, novices tend to give much importance to quantity.  They do that for two reasons.  First, they always hear other Internet marketers preach about the importance of updating content regularly.  Second, it is hard to create quality content.  They have to do topic research, conduct keyword research, check Keyword Density, Keyword Frequency, Keyword Prominence, etc.  All of these things make writing quality content a hassle.  Thus, beginners tend to favor quantity over quality.  In this article, I am going to discuss why favoring quantity over quality is a flagrant mistake.

Quality Content Gets More Backlinks

Backlinks are links back to a web page posted in another website.  It is one of the factors the search engines rely on when determining websites rankings.  The more backlinks a website has, the better it is ranked.  Backlinks are sometimes called Votes.   When a website link to another, it gives it a vote.  In other words, it recommends it to other people.  When many websites recommend a certain page, the search engines think the page is valuable and therefore must be ranked high.

Websites will never link to a page that has low-value content.  Only websites with quality content win a lot of backlinks.  Since backlinks determine a website ranking, we can say that websites with no valuable content will not have high ranks.  Bearing in mind that high ranked websites are rewarded with huge web traffic (visitors), we can also say that websites with low-quality will not generate traffic.  Needless to say, a website with no traffic is worthless.

Quality Content Generates the Best Results

It is unquestionably true that some Internet marketers do not care about quality.  Quantity is the preferred option for them.  They also do not care about the search engines traffic because they know it is hard to increase visibility in the search engine result pages (SERPs) with less valuable content.  Thus, they rely on other sources of traffic like PPC or Pay Per click advertising.

The truth is that they do get traffic from PPC.  However, will those visitors have time to check low-quality content?  In this ultra busy world, I doubt they do.  Therefore, even in the case of relying on PPC, quality content does matter.  The only way to achieve the desired results with your visitors
