At the end of President Bill Clinton’s eight year presidential term, the national deficit was $5.73 trillion. After eight years of George W. Bush's presidency the national deficit was $10.7 trillion, the difference between the two administrations deficits is a total of $4.97 trillion accrued from the Bush administration.
