Affairs of the Heart

Affair of the heart, although we have not yet crossed the lines of intimacy, my soul has.  My mind is anxious to relive the last time I saw you, my lips miss your kiss. 

Turmoil and conflict spin through my head, as I lie with my secret while alone in bed.  Awaiting my husband with thoughts of his cheating throughout our marriage. I don’t want him touching me; it’s over we both know.  I’m trying to escape this life, so a new can grow.

My skin crawls from his touch now, the anger still flows.  Finally feeling stronger to leave this life that blows.  The kids are raised and it’s my time to graze. Seeing the light of hope through the darkness and a new man’s shadow.  My spirit comes alive for a new man’s kiss I do thrive. Obstacles seem to disappear, with my dreams of an affair of the heart!
