As we grow older, it becomes increasingly essential to concentrate on improving health. Dealing with the aches, pains and minor irritations that come living with poor health can become an increasing irritation. Sometimes health issues are unavoidable, many times they are not. There are often things that can and should be done to slow or halt the progression of bad health.
The following is a list of six very simple natural remedies for improved health. All of these methods can and will increase your health to some degree whether you are 8 or 80
♦ Take two chuckles and a belly laugh and see me in the morning!
So I hope that that is never a prescription a doctor gives to me. I hope for something with more substance from a doctor. It is a proven fact that laughter increases blood flow and the release of many positive chemical. While certainly not a prescription, enjoying life and relaxing and laughing certainly is a healthy practice.
♦ Puff- Puff- Pass Out
I will not belabor this point. Most smokers know it is bad for them these days. It is! If you smoke you should quit for health reasons. But the choice is yours; end sermon.
♦ One.. Two… Three… (someone approaches) …99… 100 …101
Exercise is another one of the great natural remedies for improved health that people know they should do but often don’t. Not only is it a huge physical benefit but exercise actually makes a person feel better too.
Any exercise is FAR better than none. Even a walf hour walk through the park every day at lunchtime can have great benefits. For the very best effect though 30 minutes a day of aerobic activity is recommended.
♦ Can stank breath equal a strong heart?
Sometimes it can! Garlic is just one of the great herbs that can lead to strong cardiovascular health. Ginseng, cinnamon and many other herbs all can promote positive effects on the body. There is a reason why “medicine men” were able to stay in business for thousands of years. They had little practical understanding of how things worked but there was great knowledge passed down from their forefather about the effects of different plants and herbs on illnesses. A clove of garlic will not stop a heart attack once it has started, but regular use of garlic does have a positive effect will assist in prevention and improved health.
♦ Spare the Cod and Spoil the Child.
Cod liver oil is another well known preventive natural remedy. It also promotes heart health . Helps with joint pain and inflammation. It prevents Osteoporosis, keeps bones strong and is useful for keeping the mind sharp and acute. In many ways fish oils are a natural wonder drug. Fish oils should be taken by everyone every day. There is not a real appreciable downside.
♦ One is not enough, but anymore is too many.
I am of course talking about alcohol. It is a fact that 1-2 drinks a day can have some minor positive effects. Particularly when you are talking about red wine. The problem is that the curve falls off the board after that. Any more than 2 in a day and the bad effects begin to pile up rapidly.
You do not need to be perfect to get positive natural benefits. If you try some of thse and make inroads toward the rest you WILL have improvement. Keep working at it and keep growing. Above all try to get healthier!
