The term "terrorism" is a bit of a myth itself. It is not a term which accurately describes the behavior of individuals. It is a political term which essentially is used to characterize those who oppose us. When the CIA trained Osama Bin Laden and others to fight against the Russians, he was called a freedom fighter. When he turned those same tactics against the United States, he is called a terrorist. If a foreign country invaded America without cause and without us attacking them first, would we defend our country? Would that makes us terrorists? Iraq has been invaded by a foreign country without cause. Even if all of the lies the Bush administration told about Iraq were true, the invasion would still be a war crime according to the Nuremberg trials. Any nation has the right to fight against an invading and occupying nation. That's called patriotism.
And the invasion of Iraq has created many more terrorists in the world than Bin Laden could have dreamed of. George Bush is the poster child for enlisting terrorists. Bush and his fellow criminals lied (once again) and claimed that Saddam Hussein was involved with Al Queda. Hussein and Bin Laden hated each other. But now, Al Queda is in Iraq, thanks to our illegal invasion. We are the creators of the terrorists and we are the biggest terrorists on the planet right now. We attack Iraq without cause and kill hundreds of thousands of mostly innocent civilians. We are planning to attack Iran, probably with nuclear weapons, because we want their oil too. Who are the terrorists?
In this country, our constitution and Bill of Rights have been demolished by the terrorists in the White House. Habeas corpus has been removed. Bush can have anyone sent to prison or disappeared without a warrant and without cause. He can have any American citizen killed without a warrant and without cause. Concentration camps are being constructed in the United States by the thieving Cheney company Halliburton. These are alleged to be for illegal immigrants but they are really for American citizens who oppose the mad emperor running this country. I am more afraid of my government than I am of any Islamic "terrorists."
It is a myth that terrorism is caused by the religion of Islam. That's like saying that the terrorism of the Inquisition was caused by Christianity or the terrorism of our missionaries in Africa, Hawaii, and among Native Americans was caused by Christianity. Mohammad did not teach terrorism any more than Jesus taught it. When Muslims terrorize, they are not following the teachings of the prophet. When Christians terrorize, they are not following the teachings of Jesus.
Poverty and oppression generally lead to crime. On a large scale, they lead to terrorism. The world is less safe because of America's current foreign policy. America is the greatest engine for terrorism in the world today. Pretending that we are the victims of terrorism is a myth, one we can't afford to continue to propagate.
