Nothing is sexier than a woman with sultry, seductive, inviting eyes. Getting them to look that way is often a little harder than it looks. Want to create that smoldering temptress look at home? Follow these simple steps and you’ll be on your way to smoky red carpet ready sexy eyes in no time.

First, you’ll want to start with a fresh clean face. This is probably the most important thing because excess oil can cause your make-up to run or slide off. To avoid that, next you’ll want to use a primer. Make-up and or eye primer is readily available in cosmetic departments at most department and drug stores. Setting the perfect base or foundation to apply your eye make-up is a crucial step.

Second, start with a light shimmer shadow below your eyebrows, this will highlight your brow bone and help add depth. Some even add a dash of this same shimmer shadow to the inner corner of the eyelid for that wide-awake look.

Third, a medium gray shimmer shadow is the best for that smoky smoldering look. The shimmer helps add depth and catches the light drawing people to look at your eyes. Dry shadow is fine, but often seems to fleck off. Wetting your shadow brush just slightly and then applying the eye shadow is the best way to create this look. Start at the outside of your eye and gently sweep in to the center, then from the inside out, but do not reapply to the brush between these steps. Using the brush this way keeps the shadow from being too dark in the inner corner which can create the raccoon eyes look and makes eyes look closer set.

Fourth, a quality cream or liquid liner along the bottom of the lid against the lash line will help draw the look together. Take the back end of the cream pencil, which is sometimes defined as a “smudger” or “eraser” and very gently rub the liner, smudging it ever so slightly. If using a liquid liner, there is no need to smudge. The harder line of the liquid will diminish once mascara is applied.

Lastly, you’ll want to curl your lashes and apply a mascara primer, this step helps give the mascara something to adhere to and build upon. If you have thin lashes, this will help them look more full and lush. Now to get those bold, sexy eyes noticed you need to apply a coat of very black, blackest black, or carbon black mascara. Many cosmetic companies use different terms or names for their darkest mascaras, so be careful when choosing one. Now, you should have amazing sultry, smoky eyes that will make anyone turn their head. Paired with a nude or shimmery gloss, this is the ultimate night out look. Want to wear it for daytime? No problem, just use lighter shades of eye shadow and switch to clear mascara. The first few times, this will seem to take quite some time, but once you get the hang of it, it comes quite naturally and only takes a minute or two.
