Asking a person out for the first time may take some amount of courage. Not only are you probably hoping they like you enough to give you a chance to grow beyond friends, or at the very least, get a second date.
Once they accept your invite, you just got your chance at a first date. Once the excitement of them saying yes is a reality now, you need something to do. You’ll want to give careful consideration of what to do on that date, not the old dinner and a movie. Hanging out at a bar, drinking all night is not typically the best way to impress a date either.
If you are looking for some fresh and fun first date ideas, even something that is sure to impress your date from both as original and romantic, here are a few tips:
* Miniature Golf
Miniature golf is an excellent way to break the ice of a first date without the over-competitiveness of a real sport. The point is not to get a hole-in-one, but to have some fun and enjoy the course. Miniature golf courses can be a great way to get to know a person during an initial date.
* Dinner Cruise
A dinner cruise is a very pleasant way to spend an evening. The two of you are able to get away on a boat, have dinner, nice conversation and see some sights. Great memories of a first date can start on a dinner cruise. This type of date can be both fun and romantic.
* Project Date
A project date gives you and your date an artful type of date. Many places have arts you can participle in like Painting, Ceramics (Pottery), or Photography. The objective is not to make a master piece, sometimes it is more interesting to make something completely abstract, whatever artistic flair strikes you, just go with it.
* Theme Park
A local theme park, carnival or fair is an idea that will allow for many activities, sights, sounds and rides. You and your date can move from activity and activity and in a small area, relatively speaking, experience many fun events.
* Picnicking
A picnic, especially at a park or beach, is a wonderful location for a first date. You can plan simple or go big. The menu can be anything from simple pre-made sandwiches, all the way up to a small elegant BBQ dinner.
If you have a beach or landscape facing to the west, you can treat your date to a spectacular sunset to compliment the meal and the date.
These are some ideas that will make that first date a truly memorable occasion, to give a good first impression, as you show your date a new and fun evening, and without getting into the old outdated standbys.
The best part is, although you can only do so much on a first date, you can try other ideas on the second date or third date, or fourth date.
