I have a lot of lesbian friends online and many who ask me if I know of any good lesbian dating sites.

I'm not that good at match making but have a lot of single lesbian friends and so I've put together some ideas on what I've learned about lesbian dating sites online. I've met a few lesbian couples who started dating online, and mostly they've had success with Match.com. The couples I've met who have met from Match.com seem to stay together long term although it seems that after a while you start to run into the same people on that site - I've heard some horror stories! It seems to be on Match.com as it is in life, the pool of lesbians in your local area is usually connected to each other somehow.

Moving on, I've never heard of any couples coming from Chemistry and I think that some lesbian singles are weary to try out Compatible Partners, the same-sex singles site by eHarmony. I have to say that looking at how happy the straight couples are on a eHarmony commercial makes me wonder about them and how they determine "deep compatibility" and if I was ever single again I think I would try them out just to see! The personality profile seems to be extensive and so if you do try Compatible Partners be prepared to put some thought into your profile not just your pic.

Lots of single lesbians I know make more of an effort to meet singles in their area, but more and more women I talk to are finding love long distance.

One dating network that appeals to those lesbians is GayGirlsDating.com. This site appeals to lesbians worldwide and you will find global singles looking for lesbian love online. This site is tied into LDate, a large network of lesbian dating sites that allow you to sign up for the type of lesbian singles network that appeals to you such as LavendarGirls.com, DykesinLove.com, or SingleWomyn.com. Each of these sites has their own free access at sign up, and you can access the entire network with a premium upgrade. GayGirlsDating.com is geared towards lesbian singles worldwide and open to sign ups globally.

Other sites to try for casual lesbian dating would be LavaLife, Lesbian FriendFinder, or Fling.com.

If you're not looking for something long term or even remotely serious, these sites might be best for you. The members on these sites are geared towards casual meet ups and short term relationships to put it mildly. The bottom line is that these sites are best for those just looking to 'hook up'.

Whichever site you choose be sure to be original and genuine when filling out your profile, and straightforward about your intentions, likes, and dislikes. Whatever the ideal dating situation is for you, as long as you and your date are on the same page you should make a memorable connection or two. Good luck!
