A guide to buying “smart” at the garden center, only really requires a couple of things. The most important one being another person shopping with you, who can will tell you No! While gently reminding you to “put it down “and to “back away from the aisle”, you can't buy the whole store.
This may sound silly but if you are a serious gardener and it is peak season to be outside gardening and planting, you will want to purchase several things that are not necessary. In order to not over spend, start with a list of the items you actually need, for a specific project.
Once you have your list of required items, in hand you can enter the garden area armed with your list of must have items. Try to have this thought out, so you will not be lured to other products, thus going astray from your list.
Next thing will be to do some comparison shopping for the items needed to get the job done. After deciding on the quality of the product along with the price range, make your best decision based on your needs, while being an informed consumer.
If you do not see a particular item that you need to complete your garden project, ask the personnel that are working on shift. Sometimes they can offer suggestions and inform you of the items location, as well as information that could lead to saving you money on different items on your list.
You may not find all the best deals in one stop shopping. If this seems to be where you find yourself, do some in person store price comparisons. Sometimes the savings you can benefit can be a great deal more, if you take a look around town at local retailers.
Most retailers will advertise on a weekly basis, with these flyer's or brochures, they mail or have at the entrance to the store for the taking. If you are looking for a large item, definitely take the time to grab some of these flyer's and shop around for the best deals offering discount prices, or savings on shipment of the item. Saving discounts on shipping rates alone can save you a huge chunk of change.
Being informed of sales for the things you need, will save you money to allow you to create your garden area, without the drawbacks of the nagging thoughts of having overspent. Remember to shop slow, price check, ask questions and if you keep this in mind, you will not be adding dirt to your gardening fun, or maybe you will?
