Makeup tips for oily skin

Don't you just hate it when you have applied your make-up and it has inexplicably disappeared after only a few hours?

Unfortunately this is one of the perils of oily skin.

Oily skin is also known as a skin spoiler and is very common among women all over the world. The pores are normally larger and darker than most others. All skin needs a certain amount of oil to lubricate it and keep it healthy. Oily skin occurs when the sebaceous (oil) glands of the skin produce more oil than the skin needs.

If you want to have longer lasting make-up then you need to make some changes to what you use and the way you apply it.

If you have oily skin then a foundation primer could be one of the most important things you own. A foundation primer will help to minimise the appearance of your pores. It will act as a kind of barrier between your pores and your foundation. It will absorb any excess oil. It will also give your skin a more even tone. In short a foundation primer will make your skin look better. It will also make your foundation last much longer.

You need to choose a foundation that will help absorb any excess oil and combat shine. Many mineral foundations will now do this. They will also be a huge benefit to your skin in the long term.

There are many blushers available now but powder blusher is best for oily skin. The dry formula means it will last longer. Apply a small amount to your brush and blend thoroughly. Move your brush in small circles and blend upwards and outwards. Always apply a little bit at a time. Too much blusher will make you look unnatural.

Apply a layer of your foundation over your eyelids before you apply your eye shadow. Then apply a coat of pressed powder. This will help to make the eye shadow last much longer and it will also help to prevent creasing. Cream eye shadows are a good idea for oily skin because they adhere very well to the skin.

Many people do not realise that oily skin can even cause mascara to slide off. If you want to stop this from happening then you need to apply a layer of pressed powder or powder foundation to your lashes. This will help make your mascara last longer and your eye lashes look longer.
