Here is a very special piece of philosophy. It is called the Third Part Law. It is the phenomena behind wars, quarrels and conflicts. In fact, no conflict can exist without this phenomena in play.

The law is as follows: A third party must be present and unknown in every quarrel for a conflict to exist. Or, for a quarrel to occur, an unknown third party must be active in producing it between two potential opponents. Or, while it is commonly believed to take two to make a fight, a third party must exist and must develop it for actual conflict to occur.

The person to discover this phenomena was L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology.

While a person may think this is questionable, look at this scenario. Husband listens to mother about how untidy the wife leaves the house. At the same time, the mother is telling the wife about the bad things that the husband did as a young man. The result is that the wife is upset at the husband, and the husband is upset at the wife. Very soon there is conflict. How bad this conflict gets may depend on other factors which can be the subject of other articles.

So the next time you see a conflict brewing note that it takes more than two to fight, there must be a third party somewhere. They may be hidden, but they are there.

If you looked at the conflicts of war, you will see the same phenomena in play. Nation pitting against nation means someone is playing both at each other. Someone may get financial reward, more loans or weapons sold, or they me have another agenda at stake, like control of both nations debts, and so on. Russia went to war with itself after Lennon was shipped into Moscow from Germany in a blacked out train. Look at the current war in Iraq. Then look at Vietnam, and other wars in the past and their third parties can be found.

So the next time you are about to take part in a conflict, look for the real cause of it, who is behind it. It might take a bit of digging, but you will find them. This also applies to individuals who have quarrels with organizations. There is a third party. It would also apply to those who are arrayed against religion, third party.

And one last point, when you find this third party, guess what? Both parties calm down and the conflict ceases. It is like magic. So try it and you will see it works.
