I saw a ladybug alight upon a window sill
If I had not disturbed her rest, I'm sure she'd be there still.
I tempted her with gentle nudge to crawl upon my finger
She took offense to my advance and so declined to linger.
And though I'm sad I can't regret her sudden, swift departure
She'll find her peaceful solitude nearby
Of this I'm quite sure.
