Google Instant will show the content you are looking for while you are typing in.
Internet user will go straight to the results without clicking the "Search".
New system can save 2-5 seconds per search.
Google announced on Wednesday (8), during the Internationale Funkausstellung IFA Berlin, they are improving their search page, allowing users to see the results when the word is typed in, making the search faster. The new tool is called Google Instant.
The main change is that the user will go straight to the content searched much faster because you no longer need to finish typing the word, or click "Search". In addition, the survey results on the screen are renovated and change as the user typing the following additional letters of the searched words.
The new system is already available to U.S. Internet users, and next week for the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Russia that have Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer 8. Viewers who do not reside in the countries mentioned can only access Google Instant if they are logged into any Google account. The company's goal is to offer in the coming months, the service to a greater number of locations.
The idea of the new system came when the company found that people type slow read but fast. According to Google, an Internet takes about 300 milliseconds to hit a key, but only 30 milliseconds (a tenth of the time) to look for another part of the page, which means that people can view results as they type a search.
Another change is that seeing the results that appear as you type, the user can formulate better research, or even adapt their search until the results match exactly as it looks.
According to company data, before Google Instant, a surfer was carrying more than nine seconds to type a query. Google found, including several examples of research that led 30-90 seconds to be entered.
The company also announced that using the Google Instant can save 2-5 seconds per search. And if the search is used worldwide, Google estimates that will be saved over 3.5 billion seconds per day, or 11 hours would be saved every second worldwide.
And for those who care about speed and performance. Don't worry. The company anticipate that Google Instant will not slow your Internet connection, and they plan to automatically turn it off for very slow connections.
