Tips for parents: Disciplining teens

My 13 year old daughter thinks money should be handed to her when ever she wants it. She has grandfather who gets her what ever she wants and even gives her money. I am very poor right now. I can't give her what she wants and don't think she should have what she wants. Her grades are failing. She doesn't listen or do her chores.

I want my Dad to stop giving her everything and make her work on it. She should have her grades up and she should be respecting her mother. I have ask him numerous times to stop but he doesn't listen. How do I get my daughter prepared for a life where she won't always get everything she wants without hard work?

Teenagers should be learning that life is hard and it takes hard work to be successful these days. Teenagers who are giving everything for nothing don't learn that life is not like that. They will be lost in the world when no one else is there to provide for them. Parents need to make their kids work for every thing they have and get. Parents should give their Teenager an allowance until their old enough to work. The allowance should be all they get. The teenager has to learn that the money they get will not go for everything they need and want. They need to learn that saving and working hard to get more money is the only way to succeed.

Teenagers are having enough problems with peer pressure, sex, drugs, and being excepted. They need to learning how to deal with these issues by having enough confidence and respect for themselves to say no. They need to learn when to let things go that don't matter. Material things don't matter in life. Your self respect is far more important. Teenagers need more mental learning than material things can give them.

Has a mother of teenagers I wish parents would take more time to teach there children how to treat their fellow man. Parents need to let go of what they can give their children in material possessions and worry about what kind of leaders they are raising.
