Clouds of suspicion haunt my soul with fear and despair
Dark thoughts of your unfaithful love fill me with doubt.
Plans for our future together just fade and disappear,
And when mistrust moves in, love moves out.
What happened to the world we once built together
When true love was ours and nothing else mattered?
When our thoughts were pure and our words were tender
What has caused all those grand dreams to shatter?
Why has the look in your eyes grown distant and cold
Where once I saw mirrored contentment and trust,
Has your love turned to such contempt and uncaring
That you carelessly trample my heart into dust?
Dark moments have turned my life into sadness
Through the agony of watching love wither and die,
Dark clouds that hide the warmth of the sunshine,
And leave me with the unanswered question, “Why?”

Anger courses through my veins
And burns on the surface of my skin.
Visible to all it must surely be,
