Benefits of a weight loss blog

A weight loss blog can provide a variety of benefits, both to the writer and the readers.  The following are some of these benefits.  

It can help the blogger lose weight

A lot of people find that keeping a blog can help them lose weight.  This happens in different ways.  First it keeps them accountable.  If they are blogging regularly then they may feel like they have to say what their weight is.  When they are thinking about cheating or not doing what they are supposed to in order to lose the weight then they might think about how the people will read it and be disappointed.  Thus they might work harder to lose the weight by sticking to their diet, exercising, etc. 

A weight loss blog can also help to motivate the blogger in other ways.  They can also use it as a place to keep track of everything such as what they eat, how much they are exercising and the other measures they are doing to keep their weight down.  They can see their weight dropping on the blog if they keep track of it as many do.  Some bloggers will also put up pictures of themselves as they are shrinking in size and constantly seeing these can make the blogger see that what they are doing is working, even if slowly, and can help them keep up with it.

Someone who is blogging might feel like they are motivating others.  They might want to do well in order to keep up with that.  They can feel good knowing that they are doing others this service.

Some people also make money off of their blog.  They might have ads or links going to different things.  Some websites pay people to make blogs.  It can also help you get writing expertise and connect with others who have the same goals as you.

Advantages to the readers

Of course, many readers will indeed be encouraged to lose weight by the bloggers.  They may read about the blogger's success and feel like they can do it as well.  They may learn the strategies that worked for the blogger.  It may help them get through the difficult times in trying to lose weight if they try those strategies themselves.  They may be better able to avoid pitfalls that the blogger faced if the blogger tells them how they overcame them.  They may also just be more motivated by reading such a story and thinking about it more.

A weight loss blog can be very advantageous and can help people realize their weight loss goals.  The above benefits are some that can be gained.
