Streets of Blood
The dark street was the perfect place to hide and wait. The shadows covered most of the corners and all along the walls. A pair of blood-red eyes hovered in the darkness, probing the almost empty streets beyond. Soon the victim would be in sight, unaware that fate had chosen her.
Footsteps rang down the desolate street. She walked past, alone, with no fear of the night. From the shadows emerged another, stalking silently behind. Closer and closer, the moving darkness closed in upon the unsuspecting girl. Then she turned up a dark side street. There was no one to be seen. Now was the time.
The craving for flesh and blood became too great. The girl heard a noise behind her. The sound of heavy breathing filled her ears. She turned, horror drawn on her face. She screamed, but it was too late. The thing she looked upon was the visage of pure evil. Before she could scream again, it was upon her, tearing her flesh with its teeth and razor sharp claws. Her blood splattered the street, glistening in the pale moonlight. It ripped into her throat, her last scream dying before it ever left her mouth. Then the thing bounded off into the night, its hunger sated - for now.
