Why we should care for our parents

It goes without saying that the most sincere and selfless persons on earth for us are none but our parents. Their love for us is selfless and boundless. They efface themselves just to see us happy, smiling, satisfied and prosperous. They are always willing to give untold sacrifices for the welfare and betterment of children. Who else, then, deserves our love and care more than our own parents?

Parents bring up their children with great love. Making their children happy and satisfied is their prime goal. The success of their children delights them beyond words. Fathers strive hard to earn more and more money to make things easy for their children, facing multiple problems of day-to-day life. On the other hand, mothers show their pure love for their children and train and educate them to enable them useful and successful members of society.

Given their labour and selfless love for us, we are all supposed to care them as they cared us when we were children, dependent on them. The fact of the matter is that children are a great prop for their parents in their old age. Though we can never pay back their immense favors on us, we must help them in times of their need. Good and obedient children are a great source of delight and satisfaction for their parents in their old age. Our obedience and good behaviour with them in their old age bring smiles on their face, making them feel successful. Such loving, caring and obedient children are the ultimate result of life-long labour.

Disobedient and disrespectful children kill their parent before their actual death. They shatter their beautiful dreams and dampen their hopes and expectations. They leave their parents in lurch. They leave them when their parents need them most. This is height of selfishness. Such heartless children are always deprived of great blessing and prayers from their parents.

Serving our parents selflessly and lovingly help us win the pleasure of God. Hurting parents amounts to offending God. Serving our parents will help us earn their precious prayers, which will ultimately win God's pleasure for us. On the contrary, disrespect to our parents offends them, leading us towards displeasure of God.

We must care and love our parents, for they are the only people who truly deserve our love. We must not forget the time they brought us up despite facing all the troubles and problems. So, help them, care them and adorn your world and the Hereafter.
