The expansive park is approximately the same size as San Francisco. This park in Orlando, Florida welcomes millions of tourists annually. It is often the most discussed and photographed of dream vacations that will magically enter your heart. Strap on your Mickey Mouse ears because it is destination Disney World.
*Vacation planning
Determine the amount of park days that will be on the schedule. Disney tickets can be purchased ahead at a Disney Store or on line to avoid long lines on the first day at the park. Park hoppers can be purchased if more than one park will be visited in a day. Setting a tentative schedule for the days allotted will help maximize park time and reduce stress. Travel agents can help to assist with planning or add on a Disney cruise to the itinerary if desired. The Disney website and free vacation planning video are helpful to secure the details and build excitement too. Getting a matching group shirt or only a shirt for the kids to wear will also help to prepare the group and make it easier at the park. *Park tricks
Wear comfortable shoes to the park that will allow for endless walking and standing. Pack sunscreen, hats, sunglasses and quick essentials in a small pack to make the trip more enjoyable. Lockers are available at the park for quick retrieval of items if they are too heavy to carry. Baby joggers can be rented for the trip and easily picked up while entering the park. Drop the jogger off when exiting and retrieve a new one at the next park destination. The cost is well worth it to keep the troops happy and rested especially if they are under the age of 6. Scooters are available for rental with the same concept and make park touring a breeze for older adults. Fast passes are available one at a time for the most popular rides. There is a range of time when a fast pass can be used, but they are accepted after the time frame has expired. Once the time frame has expired then a new fast pass can be retrieved. Rider swap is handy for parents of small children so they can enjoy rides that the children are not quite ready to enjoy. If items are purchased at the park, they can be sent to your Disney hotel or picked up on the way out of the park with ease.
