The sad reality, is that we’re still struggling as a society to ward off obesity. It doesn’t need to stay that way, but it’s a difficult task to get everyone that’s overweight involved and/or excited about weight loss nationwide. There are many reasons for obesity, as well as many ways to change it. Why are we continuously failing though, and unable to get a grip on obesity? Here are some of the reasons why the majority of our population are overweight, and some things we can do to change it.
-Lack of awareness.
Once we learn the correct ways of how weight loss works, we begin to see how quite easy it really is. I’m aware of all the “bad and confusing information out there,” but there are simple and effective ways to lose weight. Those attempting to lose weight through researching the net, advertised fad diets, various weight loss programs, books and magazines, aren’t often guided in the right direction that will lead to long-term success. For others, the bad choices they make each day don’t even occur to them that it could be contributing to their weight. Many people just aren’t making any attempt at all to change their situation. Awareness and information, are at an all time high, because of the internet and the influx of weight loss TV shows. This doesn’t mean people are doing anything to make the necessary changes pertaining to weight loss. We can make you aware, but it’s still up to those that need the help to take action, and do the work it takes to lose the weight and keep it off.
-We think it’s too hard.
There are too many false claims out there about weight loss, and this causes people to fail. Instead of people realizing that they’re just being fooled, they adopt a position that it’s their fault they can’t lose weight. The truth is, you can lose weight easily by making some lifelong simple changes. It seems daunting, I understand that, but a few changes won’t hurt you. What actually happens, is when my clients make a few simple changes, they want to change and accomplish more. We need to stop doing the things that won’t bring us to success, and rather adopt the healthy habits that work. Of course it’s going to be hard for everyone to lose weight if they’re not seeing results, or don’t have hope to hang onto, or aren’t being given the foolproof tools towards success.
-We don’t have proper support.
