You want to get your father something special for the 2010 Christmas season. The following are just a few of the presents you might consider.

Something handmade

If you have a limited budget but you want to do something very thoughtful then you can consider something that is handmade.  If you have a skill such as if you are a painter, then you can paint something for him.  You can sew something.  If you are a writer, then write him a special poem or make a journal outlining how much you love him and the special times you have shared.  These can also be great ideas for children.

Photo Christmas gift

A lot of men love photos of their children and grandchildren.  You can get him a nice photo in a frame.  You can make him a photo album that he can look at.  You can make him a scrapbook that includes both photographs and mementos.  You can also take a shadowbox and fill it with pictures and items from the past.

There are many other Christmas gifts that have photos incorporated into them. Something to wear

This can be both a practical and a luxurious Christmas gift.  You can get him some nice looking shirts if he has a need.  He might like some new ties.  A warm jacket can be very useful and provide a lot of comfort.  You can get him a soft robe for those cold winter days that are coming up.   You can also get him a nice watch.  They make many different types of watches at all price points and you can get him one for everyday use or one to use when he has a special event.  He might like another type of jewelry such as a chain or a ring (but be careful since some men don't like jewelry).

An experience

Your father might not have need of material items, but that doesn’t mean you can't get him a great Christmas gift.  You can send him on a night out to a restaurant and a show.  You can send him on a week cruise vacation.  You can get him a membership somewhere such as to a zoo or a museum.  Think about what he likes and might enjoy doing. 

There are many great gifts to get for your dad for Christmas 2010.  Consider the above ideas when making your selection.
