Recent world events and political posturing including the world economic situation have lead me to reconsider the issue of "the End Times" as discussed in the Bible.  Now,  you may not be one of those who agrees with biblical prophecy, but when the facts smack you in the face it’s difficult to deny the truth that confronts us about this subject when we open the Good Book.  The 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the Tribulation, Famine, Pestilence, war, death, and the second coming of Christ, all mentioned in the Bible, but those subjects only scratch the surface.

It’s not only the events in the United States that we must look at, but we must certainly look at the state of the World when making comparisons of modern times to biblical prophecy.  The words “one world government” make some folks chuckle.  Not me!  Have you given any thought as to what kind of globalization of authority may come out of the current financial situation?  Check out what France, Germany and others have been saying about the need to change "global capitalism". 

I am not afraid to make comparisons in the Bible to what is going on around us on a daily basis.  You can stick your head in the sand if you want, or you can prepare for the coming events as predicted by the Prophets.  The Bible predicts the onset of a “one world government”, and there are many possible scenarios that could be a prelude to this prophetic event. 

Then there is the “mark of the beast” or the number ‘666’!  So where do you want your mark?  In your hand or on your forehead?  When one looks at the original language that the Bible was written in, the hand technically includes the area from the tip of the fingers to the shoulder.  The forehead in the original language could include the area from the left temple near the ear to the right temple near the ear.  Don't laugh!  Livestock and even domestic rabbits are tattooed with identifying marks or numbers in their ears for I.D. purposes.

This leads us to the question that has been raised about the RFID Chip sometimes called the ‘Implantable chip’.  Could this be the "Mark Of The Beast"?  The use of the RFID Chip was originally designed for use in race horses, but has most recently been used for the identification of our family pets and in the wristbands of patients in hospitals. Are we next?

The Bible is filled with prophecy about the End Times.  There are the Prophets and the "Minor Prophets".  Understanding the Bible can be difficult at times.  The Bible is not put together in chronological form, so one must jump from book to book when doing a study on End Times Prophecy and that can confuse the issue.  Never the less, the books of Ezekiel and Revelation are usually the two books that most folks refer to when discussing End Times Prophecy.  However, the books of Daniel, Matthew, First Thessalonians, Second Thessalonians, 2nd. Timothy and others also speak of the End Times.

Even if you don't put much stock into the book of Revelation, you can't deny the fact that some of the predictions of Revelation are coming true little by little every time you pick up a news paper, read the news on line, read a magazine or look around your own town.
