Books are evergreen. They are always in demand. They are never outdated or out of fashion. An avid reader finds an ineffable joy to read printed and written words to satiate his/her knowledge. Those who consider books as an outdated form of entertainment are grossly mistaken and are supposed to think again.
With the thumping and sensational advent of Internet, it was thought to be a potential threat to books, for thousands of books are now available online with an easy access for readers. But books have stood the test of time. Their popularity and importance still remain unaffected and intact.
A book is our best companion. It gives us knowledge and pleasure. It is our best friend in our loneliness. An engaging book keeps its readers engrossed, giving them immense delight, making them forget of their problems and worries. Books can be taken everywhere without any hassle. People prefer to have good and absorbing books, novels, magazines and journals to their laptops whenever they intend to travel by land or by air. One can argue that with the help of laptops we can multiple books on line wherever we move to. But it is clear that not every one can afford having laptops these days. Furthermore, books are more hassle-free than the laptops. A book in our hands give us more pleasure than a laptop.
Books of wisdom, philosophy, amazing facts, science and interesting stories still play a valuable source of tremendous entertainment, keeping us fully absorbed in the world of words. Newspapers, magazines and journals we have in our hands are more pleasing and delightful than reading them on-line through Internet.
Let it be known to you that most of us fail to distinguish between good and bad source of entertainment. Now, the question is: What is true entertainment? Actually, true and pure entertainment always delights you heart and mind equally. It gives you knowledge by appealing your aesthetic sense. Films, dramas, fiction can be a source of entertainment but books, on the other hand, give us perfect entertainment meeting our intellectual and aesthetic needs.
So, it goes without saying that books are never outdated form of entertainment. Be it children, young and old, all love books and find it a perfect source of delight and entertainment. Thousands of books being published and printed daily in all over the world speak volumes of the importance of books. Good books are always appreciated and read with great interest and joy beyond words.
