There is a Mexican-fast food establishment on S. Bascom in Campbell, CA, that attracts the oddest crowd but develops the best of stories to tell. Its called Taco Bravo. When the bars close, all the drunks wander here for a late night meal.
The food is good when sober but its the best meal ever when you're intoxicated. The staff is a diverse yet the most unusual bunch of colorful characters that will not be seen at any other eatery. For first timers, the "Super Nacho" is the most recommended meal. The "Super Nacho" is the best nacho ever, the only time you will ever find a nacho this good is at a friends party on Super Bowl Sunday.
With a combination of good food, an outgoing staff, the ideal location, and the collection of people who stop in for a meal at 3am; it makes the perfect ending to a great night. Regardless of what toxic one had indulged in during a Saturday night, your presence and story is welcomed at Taco Bravo.
Anyone who has ventured into Taco Bravo for a late night meal has a story to tell. Just by reading the comments by the fans will show how much this place matters. Everyone has some kind of a story to tell.
It usually begins with a group of friends who get together on a Saturday for an adventure in debauchery. They venture into Campbell because it has the fun of Downtown San Jose without the problems of overpriced parking or getting mugged. The desired locations are either Pruneyard Shopping Center.
In Historical Downtown, the group meets for some tailgating at the parking structure behind Campbell Ave. and 2nd Street. After some pre-night fun its time to wonder off into one of many bars available and piss the night away.
At the Pruneyard it’s a different plan. One may have enjoyed some time at the Campbell Cigar Store or is at Coffee Society relaxing by discussing philosophy. After some time the group may venture to Kyoto Palace for some sake or Boswell’s for some craziness.
Regardless of the choice all good things come to an end, problem is that you’re not ready to call it a night. Hence the group ventures of to Taco Bravo for a dinner of champions among other like minded individuals.
Here you laugh and tell war stories of the night among friends or random drunks who share a similar fate. By nights end the only sober friend now drives every one back home for a few hours of sleep and one bad hangover.
Just how popular is Taco Bravo? Its so popular among Bay Area residents that there is a fan page dedicated to Taco Bravo on Facebook. Taco Bravo is also located in Femont and in San Jose. But the one in Campbell has stories to tell.
