A game has been created for the Wii and it is downloadable. It is called Space Invaders: Get Even. It is a game that is different from the original game. In fact, it takes the concept and this time changes it around. There are different parts to download and the game overall costs $20. It can be seen as an interesting idea but probably didn’t need to do it that way and could have had it available all at once but that’s just the way it is. Some people are familiar with the game and others don’t’ really talk about it that much. Everything is simply a matter of who you talk to and who is going to play it as well.
The objective is a bit different. This time, you play the role of the Space Invaders and they have returned to Earth. Complete the levels and blow everything up. Try to avoid getting hit as it will be difficult. If you lose all the aliens, you lose or if the clock runs out, whichever happens first. Destroying buildings and anything in your way can result in some bonus time added extending your time frame? Each level has a different objective and must be completed in order to call it a successful mission.
Graphically, it is actually good. It’s really neat how the Space Invaders resemble the ones from the past looking at them. They surround the ship and try to protect it. There isn’t much else to add about it in terms of what to expect from a graphics standpoint. Nintendo has never been about pushing the graphics to the limits but more about trying to make the games fun, which is a common formula for them and they will never change.
The game play has use of both the Nunchuck and Wiimote together. It takes some time to get used to it and there is a fire button as well. The attacks can be different and depends upon the pattern. Best strategy to use in this game is to try to blow up as much stuff as possible. If you take out the enemies in the area before moving on, it might make it easier. Then again, it may not but it all depends upon the location of course.
Overall, it’s fun to play and something to have some fun with. It would be recommended if you want to have some fun and try playing as the aliens this time around. In other words, that is what makes it unique and different than anything else. It would be like if someone decided to make a Pac Man game and you get to play as the ghosts. It is only worth the money if you are going to want to play it. Try out some of it first before deciding on the rest, which is the way to go.
