When it comes to getting involved with a person who is a single parent many things and rules change compared to that of a person with no children involved.

Also the Parent has to keep a open mind of how the other new partner feels. Some may meet other single parents which would make it seem easier for them instantly having a connection being in the same situation. Others may meet single people with no children thus the parent must see their views also and inform their partner of their situation from the start so they can understand and try their best to meet you have way if possible.

No matter who you are be it the parent or person getting involved with a parent, The Most important rule of all is the child or children. They are number priority.

Many ups and downs will occur and even disrespect may play a role from the child or children involved yet one must understand them even though at times that may be very challenging for any person we must understand that they feel threatened as if they may be replaced with another and the parents love will not be towards them.

Parents should consider highly to have a serious conversation with their child or children before bringing any other partner home. They must understand that the will always be number one in their lives and so forth including not changing any routine they have with that child or children.

The parent should also beware of jealousy form their other partner if still in their lives for they also may play a roll in their child or children's thoughts about your new partner which may cause some added difficult for you and the new partner.

The best thing would be not to bring any new love interest home or mention details about the other partner when having the child or children living with you until you're certain it will lead to some thing more.

It wont be easy at first yet all is possible and if done carefully and correct which isn't always possible but can be close enough to it all should work out in the end.

As someone who was the new partner of a single parent i have no regrets and deeply care for the child involved even though we parted I cherished every moment I was with them.
