As a genre that is fuelled by stories of life, love, torment and heartbreak, the country music genre has subsequently seen the rise of many famous women to prominence throughout the course of its history, all of whom share their own unique tales of the aofrementioned situations and scenarios. While the modern day country genre is dominated by such women as Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood, it is important to look at the beautiful feminine faces of the past that made the careers of these aspiring young women possible to begin with. To tell the individual story’s of some of the most successful and famous female faces in the history of country music history to delve deep into the past and re-live their truly beautiful lives.

TAMMY WYNETTE

With a career spanning over thirty years from the 1960’s leading up to her death in 1998, Tammy Wynette stands as arguably one of the most influential female country artists of all time. In the midst of rising to fame and success of her own for her truly flawless hits such as “Stand By Your Man”, the country goddess also went on to achieve a total of seventeen number one hits in the midst of collaborations such names as Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton, but Tammy is most famous for being the wife of fellow country singer, George Jones.

The relationship between Wynette and Jones was one that was fuelled by love and controversy combined, but through all of the hardships sustained by the couple due to Jones’ alcoholism, it was this relationship that earned the duo countless classic duets and made Wynette one of the faces of the country music genre in the process. To look for the true foundations of the “trial and heartbreak” storylines and situations in the countless country music songs both past and present is to simply look at the relationship between Tammy Wynette and George Jones, but it is this that makes Tammy one of the true female faces of the country music genre.

LORETTA LYNN

Loretta Lynn is a name that is synonymous with the country music genre both past and present. Now in her late 70’s, Loretta still performs each and every year all across the world in a career that has now spanned half a century.
