adjective 1. causing intense surprise, disgust, horror, etc.
Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1)
All-time, most horrible, shocking, moment comes from the movie Audition. It's the story of a man who holds, some what innocent, fake auditions, to find a girlfriend. The girls think they auditioning for a part, but it's really an audition for him. The movie goes along, fairly calm at first, the two start dating, everything's fine, until you start to realize she is off. The movie uses slow reveals to keep suspense going. Until the moment happens, you aren't sure what to quite think of the girl he chose. So she is in her apartment standing at the sink for about 30 seconds. In the foreground of the shot is a large sack. Lying motionless and benign, you hardly even notice it, until suddenly, it moves. You then realize there is a person in the sack. You then see, to my great horror, the girl vomit in a bowl and walk over and feed it to the man.
