You're gone and I'm alone,
There's no one else around,
Bitterly I'm weeping,
But no one hears the sound.
You've left without a word,
And left a gap behind,
Our lives were spent together,
Our hearts were intertwined.
The funeral bells are tolling,
The people gather round,
But they don't feel my sorrow
As you're lowered in the ground.
A tiny little casket,
Your mother standing by,
Anguish in my spirit,
Tears within my eyes.
I give you one last present,
A flower for your grave,
The reddest rose I've seen
Denotes the loving that I crave.
I say my last goodbye,
Square my shoulders, stand up tall,
And as I leave your side,
The rain begins to fall.

Visible to all it must surely be,
