There are a number of advantages to rating at Helium, these are:

1. Rating stars allow you to earn daily revenue share from your articles.

To earn daily revenue share from your Helium articles, at least 10 rates are needed with a rating score of 75% ore above.

2. If you have 5 rating stars, you get a rating bonus of $3 each month

If you do enough quality rates in the current 90 day period to achieve and keep 5 rating stars, you get the $3 rating bonus towards the beginning of each month. The higher "quality" your rating is, the less rates you need to do to get 5 rating stars, so a person with a rating score of 85% or more can get 5 rating stars by doing 300 or more quality rates in the 90 day period, or 5 rating scores can be obtained by doing 500 or more quality rates with a rating score of 75% or more. 3. Good rating means the better articles are positioned at the top of the article list

This is the main idea behind the Helium site, that the better articles are further up the article list. This makes it easier for Helium users to see the higher quality articles for a given topic.

4. Rating can give you ideas for topics to write to

The more you rate, the more it can help give you ideas for articles to write, and the more articles you write, the more income you could make each month.

5. Rating lets you see how to write and format good articles

Rating can give you an idea what types of articles and which types of article formatting work best, how important things like spelling, grammar, paragraph spacing, and other things are to an article.

6. It can be fun and interesting.

Rating not only has the advantages above, it can be fun and interesting, and can increase your knowledge of many topics.

An important thing to do when rating, so that you can achieve a star to earn daily revenue sharing from your articles, and perhaps to get the 5 rating stars needed for the $3 a month rating bonus is to rate in a consistent way. Also, check the spelling and grammar of articles, particularly towards the start of the article, and select the best article, the one that give the best information, is factually correct, and also easy to read (eg. check for things like paragraph spacing).

As described above, rating has numerous advantages, it allows you to earn revenue sharing from your articles, can give you bonus payments for doing a lot of rates, give you ideas for articles to write, and more.  However, whilst rating is important and advantageous, writing is also important, and can help earn a higher income than more rating once you have the one rating star needed for daily revenue sharing.
