Forever, I said 'I do'
I remember that part really
Until the day we parted
And no longer was I alive.
Something inside was gone
Left to the dreams of the young
When they saw light
In the shadows that hoover over them.
Yet, my best self was
When I was together, in love
Collected and bind with
The spell of the universe.
Now I'm free and I don't know
How to find that part of me
That understood myself
That understood the self.
I only remembered duty
Structure, schedules, skills
I had to learn to get by
And by until I was numb.
Somewhere below
The chaos I've build
Took a hold of life
It held my best self and cried.
And so I hear it now.
