Poetry: Good times

by Thu Nguyen

Created on: September 02, 2010

He said, 'Let's take a ride tonight'
And I looked at the smirk on his face
Handsome, magnetic, smelling fresh
His combed back hair made him look like a model.

Instead I played hard to get
I said, 'No, tonight I got work'
I let him moan and growl
As he stomped his feet.

Good times are coming ahead
But not if I let it come too easy
I want him to wait.
I want him to see.

I don't want to be another seed
Planted in the ground to bloom
And lose it's color
By the dozen.

You see, nothing beats special
If the moment is timeless
And the words we speak
Will forever cure the silence.

So good times are coming ahead
If I let it come too easy
He won't wait for me.
He won't want to see.
