Poetry: When the heart rules the mind

Tie One on Me

Rip me out

Of this cold, windblown,

Foggy place.

Fill my lungs with

Oxygen!

Give me Air!

But don't let my

Gears begin to churn…

Take me home.

Take me…

Put me somewhere…

Lock me in a closet.

Close the door,

Then lean against it

And push…

Push as I push back,

Don’t be soft!

Slam the door

Again and again.

Bring me to tears-

Tear me apart!

Please take me away!

When my muscles hurt

                and shake

                my head aching

Tears carving creases down my

Pitiful, painted face

Take me…

Free me

From this cramped damp hole.

Make me want you,

And your possession;

That barrel chest of

Pride.

Heal me!

I want to believe that I

Always wanted you.

Turn me to the

Mirror,

Broken into 7 years

Without you.

Make me cringe in

Déjà vue

Without you.

Gratitude, for a moment…

With just a wall between us,

And not our whole lives

And miles and ages

Sweeping us away

From each other.
