Michael Jackson's death: One year later

A year has past since Michael Jackson's death, but the world seems to have let his memory fade away considerably.  The day Michael died and for weeks afterwards the media was flooded with reports and stories about his death and life.  Was all the attention just shock and awe?

Michael Joseph Jackson spent his whole life giving to the world and his dedicated fans, music was his life.  He began performing at such an early age that his childhood was swept away, and when he tried to recapture the laughter and joy he missed by making other children happy he was judged harshly.  Yet, he held his head high and continuted to give to others through his creativity and caring heart.

The death of the king of pop spread around the world and touched the hearts of many, and the sadness was felt not only by his family, friends and fans, but people in general.  Michael left behind three adorable children, and regardless of the controversy about whether or not Michael is the biological father of Prince, Paris and Blanket he was their daddy.  If you saw the funeral service that was televised and listened to his daughter, Paris, when she spoke you know how much he loved those children, and more impotantly how very much they loved him.

Sadly, Michael's alleged addiction to prescription pain medication and all the media attention concerning the overdose that ended his life will someday, if not already, be revealed to his children.  The investigation of Mr. Jackson's death, which many believe was murder, led to his doctor being charged, however only time will tell if justice will prevail.

One year later, Michael Jackson's death and birthday have come and gone with an eerie silence.  A sprinkling of media coverage, a bit of songs and videos played and nothing more.  Which is interesting because after the child-star was pronounced dead, and was finally laid to rest sales of his music, videos and anything associated with him skyrocketed.

However, all of Michael's fans, family and friends who truly admired, appreciated and understood how slefless he truly was will always remember him.  It would have been nice to hear and see more of Michael Jackson on the anniversay of his death to keep his memory and legacy alive.  Perhaps in the future this will change.
