We call out for God (those who believe in God or some sort of ultimate power) in uncontrollable pain consciously, subconsciously or even in unconscious state of mind, either it is physical or psychological pain. When it seems that no medicine or consolation on this earth is able to relieve the unbearable pain, we turn to God for help. At that very state of mind, we think that getting rid from this state is only with almighty God.

Most of the people believe in some form of God or ultimate authority according to their religion, culture or environment. Some may believe in several Gods entrusted with different functions of this universe. Some do not believe in any creator or God at all. I could not imagine that how would be the state of my mind. if I could ever imagine that there is no God or creator of this universe. . Probably I would go insane by thinking that how this universe is created automatically and how the creation is being controlled with such strict discipline? Why same medicine is working on one patient and not on other for two similar conditioned patients? Why I can not be sure that I shall be alive on this Earth tomorrow despite all those advanced technical gadgets? Who is controlling all those? For the sake argument there could be many vague answers, but the truth is that the creator (the God) is there, who controls his creation in  such a natural and uneventful manner that causes us not to think of our creator, until some sorts of disasters fall upon us to remind.

Full submission to God creates a feeling that everything on this universe is happening by the wish of God. It is very likely that there are specific reasons for every creation by God, who wants us to follow his guidance and laws without seeing him with eyes, but seeing his creation and experiencing his powers in action. Pain is one of such action created in our body or mind through unrelated events of our daily routine life. A driver flouting traffic regulations will probably cause severe accident, injuring himself and damaging his car. He might injure the other party and car also without being at fault. In some case pain is the consequences of flouting God's law.

Sometimes I wonder by thinking that if God loves us so dearly and wants good for us, then why there are disasters, calamities, pains and similar unwanted events happening on this earth regularly?  Examples of which are massive earthquake, landslide, flood, tsunami, etc. causing death, injuries and destruction of his creation. Probably there are clear answers, which is beyond our scientific calculations or analysis.

 
It is not uncommon that a very careless and indiscipline person has suddenly become very religious soon after experiencing a deep shock from a life threatening accident, loss of dearest one or similar other occurrences.  It is sad that we look for God only when we are in deep shock or pain, some will be with God all through after that and some will forget soon after relieving from pain. Best for this life and after life is to look for God well before than experiencing pain.
