Customers are a priority in any business. So we need to know what a customer wants from a website. Your website represents you and your company. So with this said, let us think of ways to build trust on a website.
Here are ten things that customers want from a website. When a customer goes to your website they want to know what makes your business so unique. So, you need to start with an introduction that informs people about your company. Explain why your business is better than your competitors.
1) Introduction to your company. Give customers a brief history about your company and why you started it. Do you have a motto? If so, tell them what it is and what it means. An example, "all natural products" or "products that save you money".
2) Next, have information about the products you offer as well as pictures.
3) Always supply contact information. A phone number, email address and a mailing address.
4) It iwould be a good idea to have a section for customer testimonials, client lists, case studies, awards and recognition. Customers do refer to these because this kind of information tells a lot about a company. Is this company trustworthy?
5) Secure Socket layer is a great way to protect the customer's data between the customer and the website. This too will build trust in your website. Security is very important to customers. They are trusting you with all their personal information, so keep it secure.
6) Your website should be easy to use and navigate. There is nothing worse then a customer getting aggravated because your website is so hard to use. A customer will just go to another website and you just lost a sale.
7) Your website should be informative and self explanatory. Make sure ordering is easy, shipping should be clearly explained and an area for any questions the customer may have.
8) A feedback link for customers to give their opinions on your products and service. This shows you care about the customer's opinion.
9) Easy to use buttons or signs for ordering and signing up for newsletters is helpful.
10) Giving customers incentives for return business is important. A few ideas is offering specials, discounts and coupons for their next order.
Using these cost effective marketing tactics will not only generate new sales but will build trust on your website. Building trust on your website will in turn keep your customers coming back.
