Best places to visit in London

Whether you like theater, gardens, shopping or pubs, to mention a few attractions, London has all of this on offer plus a lot more. This article takes a brief look of what is available and ideas of how to spend your some of your time in London.

A visit to the northern end of the northern tube line will deliver you to Camden town, a cool and hip place to go out to pubs and clubs or visit Camden market, a large alternative market. This market is open air and you can spend hours strolling around and capping the day with a visit to the Worlds End pub and an adjoining visit to the Electric Ballroom if you remembered to wear your dancing shoes and are still standing.

The southern end of the northern line will deliver you to Wimbledon (if you are in the right season and have a well sought after ticket) on this same line you can visit Wembley Arena which is opposite Wembley stadium which host games and music events and are worth checking out for events during your stay.

The best way around central London is by foot. You can find yourself lost in the haze and web of the underground travelling only to realize a ten minute journey of swapping trains and changing tube lines could have been five minutes on foot. It is good for orientation as well to have a look over ground and find your way around the central area. The underground train, the tube, is really handy if you have a day planned of visiting museums and local sites.

Another great aspect of London is its city parks. If you are in central London you have access to a number of parks including Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, St James Park and Green Park right in the center. Out in suburban districts such as Greenwich are worth taking a look at, Greenwich Park and Blackheath Common are wonderful wide open spaces to pass through on your way or just to hang out in.

If you like your beer, English pubs can be somewhat tricky. As they are all brewery-owned, they only supply what is available from the particular brewery. It is a good one to be aware of if you are switching locations on a night out and trying to avoid a mixed-drink hangover.

For traveling around the city, a London A-Z book or a tube map prove to be very useful in finding your way. Time Out (http://www.timeout.com/london/) is a great site to expand on nigh time entertainment and things to do. As the well known proverb goes, if you are bored with London, you are bored with life!
