Poetry: When the heart rules the mind

by Alexandra Eyre

Created on: August 31, 2010

When the heart rules the mind,

All the logic in the world,

Goes out the window,

Thrown into the street,

Were it lies gathering dirt,

I let my heart,

Take over my mind,

I believed that my heart,

Would lead me the right way,

But I was wrong,

I should have listened to my mind,

Because it said to be cautious,

Go slow,

Whilst my heart,

Said to jump right in,

Your mine for the taking,

Well,

My logic lies in the street,

Along with every heart,

That broke over the years,

Due to their very own,

Decisions and thoughts,

When the heart rules the mind,

Be careful.
