Stepdaughter and Stepfather
In my life at 10
Gone before I was 30
Twenty years of pain
When you left this world
I thought it was over
How stoic you looked
In your casket on that sad day
I said my goodbye
Despite our scarred past
Tears still escaped my eyes
Finding our peace
In later years
Hasn’t erased so much pain
I grew up alone
Isolated
What would I say to you today?
Clueless as to what I would say
If I ever get to see you again
Sometimes I really miss you
I don't know why
