Schools are for learning, when a parent sends their child off to school the intention is education. There are many reasons why schools should not track students with RFID chips, but the most important is simple our kids are not cattle. Yes, parents want their children to be safe at school and we have way to many problems within schools, but tagging students is not the answer.
This is outrageous and unexceptable, parents need to realize the long-term affect this could have on our way of living. Although, we are told these "chips" are for our own safety and security, if you look at the bigger picture you will realize that it is also an invasion of privacy. For example, the idea of using implants for medical reasons has been said to be convenient and cost efficient. As a patient you will have all your medical records available in one swipe, and this will reduce your wait time at your doctor's office or the hospital. For the care giver, less paper work and fewer employees.
Consider this, are you willing to trade your privacy to reduce your waiting time at the doctors, and is replacing jobs with technology going to help reduce the unemployment rate. Now, keeping children safe during school hours is vital, but to tag and track our kids like we track cattle on a farm is not the answer.
RFID chips may be excellent technology but that does not mean they are the right choice. Parents, demand that your school system does their job and do not agree to these chips. Keep in mind, when tagging the school bus or your kids backpack fails the next option you will be presented with is actually implanting these chips under your child's skin. If that happens, be prepared for a mandatory law to follow.
In conclusion, these are only a few reasons why schools should not track students with RFID chips. Every parent wants to believe that their child will be safe while attending school, but these chips may be more invasive than one might think and our children should not have to give up their right to privacy in the name of safety. This is, in my opinion, an attempt to mislead the public because we are emotional beings and when we are faced with dangers that create fears it is human nature to react without thinking; make logical and educated decisions. The more we give up our right to privacy in the name of safety the more freedoms we lose.
