Call it a sport, call it a game, call it a hobby; whatever you call it, Golf is the best game ever invented. Here's why:
No two golf shots are ever exactly the same.
No two golf courses are ever the same.
You never stop learning about the game, at any level.
You can play golf until your dying day (in most cases).
You don't need to be athletically inclined to be good at the game.
Golf courses are the most beautiful parks in the world.
Children who pick up the game benefit in countless ways, on and off the course.
Parallels between golf and life are plentiful, you can learn a lot about your character (and others) on the course.
Beer tastes better on a golf course (so do hot dogs).
Golf is a healthy obsession.
Walking a golf course is great exercise.
A hole-in-one is one of the greatest feelings on earth.
You don't need to be in great shape to play the game.
Learning how to shape a ball in the air is fun.
The better you get, the more fun it gets.
The handicap system provides the opportunity to level the playing field so that any two golfers can play against each other, regardless of their skill level.
A golf course is a great place to make friends.
New, big headed drivers are easy to hit and add tremendous distance vs. drivers of the last millennium.
Golf is a great family activity (so is mini-golf).
Learning how to make a golf ball spin backwards on the green is cool.
If you get really good, you can join the tour and make millions just for hitting a little ball around the grass.
The putting part of golf is almost an entirely different game (played all on the ground vs. in the air).
Learning how to hit a flop shot is quite rewarding.
A golf course provides an excellent opportunity to give your buddies a real bad time, and maybe take some of their money.
Watching golf on TV provides a golfer with countless free lessons from the pros.
Colin Montgomerie looks like Mrs. Doubtfire, and that's funny.
Someone (usually a cute girl) will serve you beer on the golf course.
Being good at golf is a sneaky way to climb the corporate ladder; careful with beating the boss though.
So, play golf, because it is the best game ever invented (just ask a golfer)!
