How to know if a guy likes you

In the world of dating, all is NOT as it seems. Before taking the plunge, be sure your man’s affections are pure. Otherwise, you could end up being manipulated, used, or just plain duped.

In this article, let’s take a look at some commonly misunderstood signs that a man likes you. And by “likes,” we mean “cares for on a deep and meaningful level, with the utmost of respect.” We do not mean “wants to get in your pants, stick around for a few months and move on.”

Signs to Be Aware Of

(1) He can’t take his hands/eyes off you. This means a man is attracted to you, which is, of course, important. But attraction alone does not mean that he likes you as a person or wants to be in a relationship with you. Never underestimate the sex drive of a man, or mistaken it for lasting commitment. Men do not get nearly as much emotional gratification through sex as women do.

If you and boy X interact mainly in social gatherings where there is a lot of heavy flirtation going on, that’s a great start. But take this advice: hold out. Don’t give it up so easy. If he goes out of his way to learn more about you, whether or not there is a possibility of sex, that’s a real sign he likes you. Jumping in too soon may just complicate things, so why not wait to be sure?

(2) Verbal affection. This is a tricky one. Women love to talk. We love to express our innermost secrets and desires. Verbal communication makes us feel closer and reassured.

Not the case for men. Guys bond by doing things together, not by talking about personal issues. Not only do they not like to be vulnerable; it is biologically more difficult for a man to express himself with words. If your man shows that he loves you, but never says it, that may be enough. Remember that actions speak louder than words.

On the other hand, there are some men who are constantly verbalizing their affection. Be suspicious. This is highly unusual behavior for a man, and I have seen countless guys profess their eternal love and devotion during times of conflict, as a form of manipulation. For example, my good friend was recently dumped by her boyfriend. Not more than a week later, he starts texting that he misses her, is unable to move on, would do anything to just watch a movie with her, etc. Does this mean he likes her? No. Does this mean he ever liked her? An emphatic no. This means he is insecure and afraid to be alone. The most tumultuous of relationships are
