The lunch room is noisy today.
He looks at me wanting
to say something, smiles then lets out a noise
indescribable
piercing
yet only slightly louder than the coins being spun on the table
to me beautiful
But he is scolded.

The lunch room was noisy today.
He goes into the bathroom and squeals
to hear his echo.
Grabbing the baseball glove like any 14 year old might do
he sits in the rocker and puts it on his head.
I see the toilet paper in his ears.
His way of saying, "damn these kids are loud!"
I laugh
But he is scolded

The lunch room was noisy today.
Back in his seat, he grabs my hand
Laughing uncontrollably.
He is scolded
I put my hand to his mouth
'Shhhhhhhhhhhhh'
He grunts pushing me away.
closing his eyes from a world that doesn't understand
I whisper "I can still see you"
He smiles.
He grabs paper and colors' on it
He is scolded.
He is upset and grunting
Refuses to listen to anyone

I rub his back
He is calm
And I am scolded.
