Online scams are normal to anyone using the internet. Advertisements such as "get rich today", "you won 1.000.000$" and "click here to receive your prize" are normal to any of us. Online scams will usually try to make you click on some advertisement and write your bank account information. Online scams exsists in many forms. Online scams can be through email, advertisements, practically anywhere on the internet. Fake casinos, sites that wants you to pay a charge to sign up, and so on, many of these are online scams, that takes peoples money away.
For example, there can be online casinos that wants you to pay a charge to sign up, or pay a minimum charge to play. it seems a bit suspicious that an online casino wants you to pay to sign up to their website, when they would be making money off of it in most cases. For the minimun charge to play, this could be done my a legitimate casino too, but beware of online scams. Search the site on a search engine like google, yahoo or bing, and look if there is any reviews of the site. If there are not any reviews on the casino, do not sign up. Signing up to an online casino without any reviews, you still are not sure if they are going to take your money and keep them, without letting you play. Stick to the online casino sites that you know a lot of people use and are happy using. This does not only count for online casino sites, it counts for every website on the internet. Do not sign up for a site that you do not have enough knowledge about.
Email scams will in many cases be delivered to your spam section of your mail. These online scams are often about someone whose rich uncle has died, and left him a rich heritage. To enter the uncles bank account he needs your bank account information. You will have to send him 10.000$ for "setup" and "processing fees". Once the 10.000$ is sent, he will split the uncles heritage with you. In most cases, you should not even open your spam section of your mail, and definately not click on any of the links in the mails if there are any. Sometimes, websites that you trust sends emails to you, which is placed by your mail host in the spam section. You should only click those mails in the spam section send by those sites. The others are scams, rated as spam by other users of your mail host (hotmail, gmail, etc).
Always think twice before you give your personal information to others. A very important thing to remember when you use the internet.
