I reference the song Better Sweet Symphoney by the Verb, when I hold money in my hand.  I always think of the verse, trying to make ends meet.   I used to say that I couldn't wait to grow up, so nothing and no one could control me or tell me what to do.  I am still waiting to grow up and for that to happen.  Money is, as they say, the root of all evil.  I always hate hearing the saying, money can not make you happy.  Well, if you don't have any money, and your bills are piling up, I would certainly think money would make you happy.  Who ever said money can not make you happy must have been rich and didn't know how to be happy with or with out money.

I feel that in the dictionary, on-line or in a book, next to the word control, should be the definition money.  Money controls everything.  You can't get a good job if you don't have good credit.  How can you have good credit if you don't have a good job to pay you good money so you can pay those good old bills?  You can't buy a reliable/good car if you don't have money.  How can you get a good car if you can't get a good job to have a bank lend you good old money.  Unreliable transportation, unreliable employee.  You can't live in nice house if you don't have money.  You see where I am going with this?  Money is a never ending bitter cycle.  Money makes people crazy.  Crazy to get  money and crazy with power if you have money.  Money is life.  A good vacation out of state?  Not without money.  A good education to get a good job? Not without money.  Good health care so you don't die? Not without money.  A nice meal.  Not without money.  Control.

Money defines our social status. Money allows people to judge and feel superior.  Greed for money killed our economy, took away our jobs, forced people out of their homes, placed cars on flat bed tow trucks to never be drove by the owner again.  Control.

Money turns people into gambling addicts, more green, more green.  Money is used underground for illegal drugs,  no money no drugs.  Control.

I can not say that I miss the good old days.  I don't know if there ever were any.  Trading was a form of money.  No item to trade. Control.

Money can bring people together or tear them apart.  Most divorces happen because of money the lack of or wanting a
