Contemplating the purpose of life

Considering human life on earth purposeless is indeed a gross error and a self-delusion. Had it been so, our life on earth would have been messy, chaotic and directionless beyond words. Thankfully, we have a direction and a purpose to lead our life with successfully and effectively. It must be borne we are all being tested here in this ephemeral world. We are going to reap the rewards of good deeds and bad deeds in life to come. It's, therefore, very important for all believers to have firm belief in the Hereafter, where a justice will be done to every soul according to their doings or deeds in this world.

Given the very fact that this world is our exam we have to pass successfully, it is indispensable for every one of us to please our Lord to be successful in this world and the Hereafter. Service to our fellow-beings is the prime purpose of our existence in this world. Whatever religion we may belong to, service to humanity selflessly and sincerely is first and foremost duty to perform.

Unfortunately, we witness various evils and vices gripping and confronting our world where we see social evils, terrorism, extremism, illiteracy, ignorance and injustice go with impunity. With this situation, we have a lot more work to do to purge our society from all such evils and ignoble activities. If we aim to cleanse our society and the world from all these vicious things, wickedness and depravity, our life can never be considered purposeless and fruitless.

It’s high time to have a pragmatic approach to make our life a worth-living here and make it more purposeful by helping our fellow-beings come out of their problems, worries and sufferings. Setting aside personal petty issues, if we intend to be united against the evils besetting our world, we have indeed a great purpose to live and worth-living.

So, it goes without saying that our life in this world does have its great purpose and aims. What we need most is to understand and realize our responsibilities to lead our life effectively and successfully. Those who remain unaware of such huge responsibilities think as if their life was aimless and directionless. Millions of thanks to our Lord who has not created us without purpose. The first and prime purpose, I repeat, is to please our Lord with good deeds here and serve humanity selflessly and sincerely.
